Mesh Quality
Most of the meshing
tools generate meshes using a step by step approach: Surface mesh, boundary
layer and volume mesh. Each mesh sub-step is an independent, fixed process.
CastNet works differently: It generates and optimises the mesh under
consideration of all parameters. If, for example, a difficult situation occurs
during the volume meshing, the generation process can still access and improve
the surface mesh in order to overcome the situation. Hence, CastNet generates
high-quality meshes. However, difficult geometry situations may include regions,
which are difficult to mesh, or special solution processes may require a
particular mesh quality. CastNet provides a detailed report of the mesh quality.
Problematic elements are identified and visualised for local mesh improvements
or geometry changes.
