CastNet
modelling for OpenFOAM®
CastNet
provides access to the strong solution capabilities of OpenFOAM® without the
need of defining the model setup or controlling the operation via text
interfaces. CastNet enables the user to define the complete model input for more
than 15 OpenFOAM® solvers at the graphical user interface. Solver settings,
fluid properties, boundary conditions and zones (including interior zones such
as porous and MRF regions) are defined in association with CAD geometry. Besides
the model setup, an additional GUI allows a detailed
job control during OpenFOAM® calculations. This includes plotting residuals,
changing time control settings, switching matrix solvers or discretisation
schemes during the run.

The following model setups can be conducted in CastNet:
 |
Support
of OpenFOAM® 1.5 and OpenFOAM® 1.6.(x)
|
 |
CastNet
allows the direct generation of models (variables, controlDict, solver
settings, materials etc.) for more than 15 solvers including
heat-transfer and multiphase (interFoam).
|
 |
Simple
configuration of settings for parallel solvings
|
 |
Convenient definition of boundary conditions using derived OpenFOAM®
patches |
 |
Definition of local, initial conditions e.g. specification of volume
fractions in particular regions |
 |
Support
of baffle faces, cyclic boundary conditions and two-dimensional
modelling. |
 |
Support
of snappyHexMesh in case hex-dominant meshes are required
|
Also, CastNet
provides support in form of adapted defaults for boundary conditions, initial
conditions and solver settings. With exported scripts the OpenFOAM® case can be
setup with a single command. Special initialisation settings support stable
OpenFOAM® calculations.
